# Environments

This documentation and its Try it cover two environments: production and preproduction. They serve the same API; use preproduction to try a release before it reaches production.

Every path in this documentation is relative to the service base URL of the environment you call. The operation `POST /routing/1.0`, for example, is `https://bemap.benomad.com/bgis/service/routing/1.0` in production.

Your account and its options are set per environment: an option enabled in one is not necessarily enabled in the other.
